Live Multitrack Recording
Multitrack recording of concerts, festivals and events — capturing every channel of your live show, anywhere in Queensland.
Live multitrack recording for concerts, festivals, tours & events across Brisbane & Queensland.
A great live show deserves to exist after the last note. Apex Live Audio records every input from the stage — each microphone, DI and playback channel — as separate, time-aligned tracks, so the performance can be mixed later exactly as if you were in the studio. It’s the same capture method used for live albums, concert films and broadcast, and because it runs alongside our console rather than off the front-of-house mix, it never compromises the live sound.
Whether you need a release-quality live album, audio for a video shoot, a promoter’s archive or a virtual soundcheck file for the next leg of the tour, we capture it cleanly and hand it over ready to work with.
The problems we solve
- Artists who want a live album or live singles but have only ever ended up with a two-track board mix that can't be fixed.
- Video producers needing clean, separated audio to sync with a multi-camera shoot.
- Touring acts who want a virtual soundcheck so the next show's mix is dialled before the band walks on.
- Festivals and promoters wanting a professional archive of every set for content, sponsors and future promotion.
- Recordings that failed on the night — dropped files, clocking errors, a single laptop with no backup.
- Sessions delivered in a format nobody's mixing engineer can open.

Do
- Tell us the intended use — a live album, video content, archive or virtual soundcheck — because it changes how we mic the stage and the room.
- Brief the band that the show is being recorded; small choices like talkback and count-ins matter later.
- Confirm who owns the recording and who is allowed to receive the files before the show.
- Allow time in the schedule for a line check of the recording rig, not just the PA.
Don't
- Rely on the venue's console USB record or a phone at front-of-house for anything you might want to release.
- Leave the recording decision until the day — the split, recorders and audience mics need planning.
- Assume the front-of-house mix is what you want on the record; the multitrack is what gives you options.
- Forget the video team — if sync isn't discussed in advance, someone spends days lining it up by hand.
Frequently asked questions
Every microphone and instrument on stage is recorded as its own separate track at the same time. Later, a mix engineer can balance, tune and treat each track individually — the same freedom as a studio recording, from a live performance.
The recording takes a split of the signals before or at the console, so the audience hears exactly what the engineer is mixing. The recording rig is entirely separate.
Our recording package is standalone and can take a split from most professional consoles. We'll confirm the connection method with the other supplier ahead of time.
Enough for full band, orchestra and festival stages. Tell us the input count and we'll spec the rig.
Individual WAV files per channel, consolidated to a common start point and clearly labelled, plus a session file for common DAWs on request. Delivered on a drive or by secure download.
Either "Yes, we offer live mixing and mastering as a separate service" or "We hand over mix-ready sessions and can recommend mix engineers.
We play the previous show's multitrack back through the console so the engineer can build the mix in the empty room before the band arrives. It saves time, protects the band's voices and makes the first song sound like the fifth.
We work with your video team on timecode or a common sync point so audio and picture line up in the edit.
We run redundant recording so a fault on one machine doesn't cost you the show.
Yes — recording a performance requires the artist's (and often the venue's or promoter's) consent, and any release involves rights and royalties. We'll record; the permissions sit with you.
